Kumail Hamid drops the first track of his new album, Links

Downtempo-loving Hamid is influenced by Mount Kimbie, Shlohmo and Nicolas Jaar. He combines bass, spectral vocals and atmospheric sounds to create his own. About a year ago, the Mumbai-based artist released Shift, his debut EP and soon after he got cracking on his forthcoming album, Links – “even though we’re moving towards an EP culture and no one makes albums anymore!” It debuts at Magnetic Fields Festival this month and it is about “connections we share”, with anything, really – in fact, the intro was inspired by a smashing good cup of tea. Expect to hear mellow tunes hammered out in conjunction with Sandunes and Echofloat.
