8 Deepika Padukone beauty tips you can steal right now

You’d imagine that any Deepika Padukone beauty tips would revolve around her classic, minimal style. But now, in just her second year as brand ambassador for L’Oréal Paris, the actor has broken out of her signature style. Case in point: the ruffed gown and rockstar eye make-up she sported at the red carpet at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Her career, too, is on a meteoric rise. With blockbusters like Padmaavat and xXx: Return Of Xander Cage, in recent times, she has consolidated her power on home turf while stalking into the limelight globally. Last month, she went from Bollywood icon to Hollywood diva to red carpet connoisseur in the span of a week. How does she manage it all? A trusted team, an easy-going routine and a tonne of feel-good remedies are her super powers, it turns out.

8 Deepika Padukone beauty tips that you can easily adopt

In the morning…

“I check my phone and drink a glass of water. It’s very important to have a glass once every hour to stay hydrated.”

For a long day at work…

“I always carry the L’Oréal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara to plump my lashes and make my eyes stand out. A bright pink or red lipstick, like L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Lip in Aphrodite Kiss, is the perfect ally to add a pop of colour to any out t. I also make sure my sunscreen and moisturiser are in my bag to protect and hydrate my skin.”

You will find me getting glammed up to…

“The latest beat by Justin Timberlake ‘Say something’, in the company of my stylist, Shaleena Nathani. I find that staying happy and positive before I walk down the red carpet really translates into my entire look and helps me enjoy the moment better.”

I believe…

“Less is more. When it comes to your make- up, and especially your skincare routine, it’s essential that you don’t go overboard and experiment too much. Find what works for you and keep it natural.”

My workout routine includes…

“Something that I enjoy doing, based on my mood. There was a time I really enjoyed yoga, then I moved to Pilates and now I’m totally hooked to running. I make sure I plug in some physical activity at least four times a week to keep myself feeling good.”

When I need to treat myself…

“I’m a spa junkie, so I go home to Bengaluru and indulge in a relaxing ritual. When I’m not doing that, I take long naps or clean things around me—it’s very therapeutic. On occasions when I really want to treat myself, I dig into a cheat meal. My favourites are rasam with rice and pickle or a dense chocolate cake.”

After a long day…

“I watch a movie or unwind by talking to my family or friends. Then, I always take off all my make-up. This is something my mother taught me when I was a teenager. Then, right before I sleep, I take time out to reflect on how my day has been and be thankful for it.”

When I’m travelling between cities…
“My skin tends to dry up due to the air-conditioning in flights. I always carry my L’Oréal Paris Hydrafresh Aqua Balm to keep it hydrated. Plus, I make sure I’m dressed in my most comfortable clothes.”
