There are many things that confound people when they see Priyanka Chopra. It’s usually how she manages to straddle two continents, her transatlantic accent, and most prominently, her flawless skin despite her jam-packed schedule. While we may not have any answers for her ability to teleport, we know that her clear skin is not the result of a soul trade-off but a meticulously practiced regime.
The Baywatch actress opened up about beauty and her skincare routine in an interview with the New York Times, “It’s an interesting thing, the concept of ‘beauty’ as an actor. People have doubted my abilities because of my beauty, and I’ve enjoyed proving to them that beauty shouldn’t have anything to do with your ability to tell the story. It’s important for actors to be chameleons. Beauty is just one aspect,” she says.
Here’s her exact skincare regime, decoded.
“You have to remove all the remnants of make-up before you go to bed no matter how tired you are,” says Priyanka Chopra. And she abides by this rule of thumb by double cleansing her face, following it up with double moisturizing because her skin is dry. She also treats her skin to face masks to get rid of signs of tiredness. “Sometimes I’ll put on fresh yogurt as a mask with a little turmeric powder in it — this is like an Indian trick. The turmeric is a healer for your skin,” she says. She also never steps out without applying sunscreen, especially on her face.

Priyanka confesses that she doesn’t like to wear a lot of make-up when she’s not working and usually makes do with a bit of foundation under her eyes and a lip balm. But if she’s in the mood for a bold lip, she’ll skip the glosses and reach for the mattes. “I have really big lips, and when I wear gloss, they look way bigger. I have to keep them in check” Her favourite lip colours include MAC’s Lady Danger, Candy Yum Yum, Ruby Woo, Russian Red and Studded Kiss and Nars’ Dolce Vita.
For her eyes, she keeps it simple and sticks with kohl and mascara. “I’m not big on the smoky eye. I like to keep the eye fresh,” she says, “I actually use my fingers to curl up my mascara. I’m not very meticulous when it comes to my makeup. I pretty much use my fingers, except I’ll use a brush for my blush.”
