Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are officially a couple

Update: In a recent magazine interview, we have confirmation that Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are dating. When asked about the relationship, Ranbir reveals, “It’s really new right now, and I don’t want to overspeak. It needs time to breathe and it needs space. As an actor, as a person, Alia is — what’s the right word — flowing right now. When I see her work, when I see her act, even in life, what she gives is something that I’m aspiring to for myself.”

Expanding on his new relationship in an interview with GQ, Ranbir adds, “It always comes with a lot of excitement. It’s a new person, it comes with new beats. Old tricks become new tricks again — you know, being charming and romantic, all of that. I think I’m more balanced today. I value relationships more. I can appreciate hurt and what it does to a person much more than I could a couple years back.”

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor first made a public appearance together at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are also co-stars in the upcoming film, Brahmastra. Interestingly, Alia, herself, got the wheels of this relationship turning way back when she went on Koffee with Karan to say “I remember the first time I spoke to Ranbir. You (Karan Johar) called him up when Rockstar just released and you said, ‘Here, talk to Ranbir. Tell him how much you love him’. And I spoke so much rubbish. I was just talking non-stop, and he was like, ‘Yeah, that’s very nice, Alia.’ Obviously, I have hung out with him after that, and I still think he is really adorable. And I still want to marry him.”

And if you’re wondering how Alia’s bestie and Ranbir’s ex, Katrina Kaif, must be feeling about all this, rest assured there’s no drama in the near future. Katrina used the power of the ‘gram to congratulate Alia on hitting the Rs 100 crore mark with Raazi, encouraging all 13 million of her followers to go watch the movie.

All this love, it just warms the cockles of our cold, cynical hearts.
