Deepika Padukone, who just conquered not one, but two red carpets at the Met Gala 2018 and at Cannes, is all set to begin prepping up for her next movie project — a multi-crore female superhero franchise, with the actor at its helm, which is a first for Bollywood.
Inspired by Gal Gadot’s role in Wonder Woman, the sci-fi story is still in its initial stages with the script being penned. The first two installments are reportedly mounted on an extravagant budget of Rs 300 crore, for which bids are currently underway.
Deepika’s costume and character will take after Gal’s, with a “special costume that will be designed for her character which will be custom-made to facilitate hardcore physical combat and movement,” reports Mumbai Mirror. The actor will soon kick off her training in mixed martial arts and various styles of hand-to-hand combat for the same.
The movie aims to hit the screens in 2019.
