From Bombay to Los Angeles, 74-year-old Asha Puthli's life has been full of milestones. The jazz musician carved a niche for herself in the '70s, has released 10 albums and over 25 singles, and has been at the forefront of fusion music, straddling genres and cultures with ease. In the initial days of her career, Asha took up a job as a cabin crew member with British Airways—her ticket out of India— and was discovered by the then head of Columbia Records through a magazine.
