Carnival for you, fundraiser for animal welfare

What to look forward to at the Woofs And Hoofs Carnival and Fundraiser

Made plans? Revise them. The Bombay Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is hosting Woofs And Hoofs Carnival and Fundraiser, in Mumbai. There’s plenty of activities planned for kids, and loads of shopping you can do – and it’s all for a good cause. The proceeds go towards re-doing the horse ward and sprucing up other parts of the animal hospital.

Here are six things we recommend you check out:

Asya: Snap up adorable animal motif, chickan embroidered T-shirts and kurtas at Asya. (Kiran Rao picked one out for Azad too.)

SU.MU: Anjali Patel who’s been shortlisted for Lakmé Fashion Week’s Emerging Designer programme, seems to be playing a lot with prints at the moment. She will be introducing her sleepwear range and dresses for kids at the carnival.

Mandalay: Expect adorable pastel-hued toons by this stationery brand, which specialises in custom-made cards and personalised diaries.

Soap Opera: Some of their handmade soap bars look good enough to eat. (Cupcakes, anyone?) But their animal-shaped soaps are killing us with cuteness this minute.

Heads Up For Tails: Invest in fleece sweatshirts, floor cushions and chew toys for your furry friend back home.

Spoilt Brat Barkery: More cakes, cookies, brownies and ‘pupcakes’ (as they call them) for your pooch.

Incidentally, this is also the first time that all the animal welfare NGOs will band together for a common goal. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Welfare of Stray Dogs, In Defense of Animals (India) , Tipperary Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Plant & Animals Welfare Society, the Corbett Foundation among others, will combine forces to raise money for the BSPCA.

Woofs And Hoofs Carnival and Fundraiser will be held on January 17, from 3.00pm to 9pm, at the Royal Western India Turf Club, Mumbai. Visit their Facebook page for more details.
