Hot address: Quattro Ristorante

The predominantly Mexican and Italian menu is tweaked for the Indian palate. And it caters exclusively to vegetarians, which is a bit of a downer.

The new addition to the menu, borrows heavily from the success of its cousin Spice Klub – the restaurant known for giving a molecular twist to Indian cuisine. What Quattro hasn’t done is let the molecular dishes take over the menu. So you’ll still find your standard quesadillas and cannellonis minus the frills, which is great. Only the nibbles, salads and soups have been rejigged.

We started with the Minestrone Tea Set, which came with a bag of green tea and edible packets of condiments, which dissolved under piping hot tomato soup. It also comes with a side of pasta and cheese should you want to add. The Aerated Mushroom And Leek soup, which was topped with light-as-air mushroom foam, and equally satiating.

And then, of course, we made a meal of appetizers and salads. The Bocconcini Mary arrived with a plump portion of bocconcini and balsamic vinegar resting on a pipette (we knocked back quite a few of these). Olive Bursts delivered the goods – in spheres that popped in our mouths. The bruschetta was topped with mozzarella, tomato and pesto foam, and we couldn’t help but think it would’ve been nice enough without the tricks too. We finished with chocolatey scoops flash frozen in liquid nitrogen, or Frozen Pebbles as they call them; which didn’t seem to add much to the overall pleasant experience.

Meal for two costs Rs 1,500 approx. Quattroristorante.com
