Yes, Coldplay’s Chris Martin was in Delhi and he surprised everyone by performing at Summer House Café (of all places) and hanging out with the AIB crew. But he and Freida Pinto are visiting with The Global Poverty Project – a global non-profit organisation that aims to put an end to extreme poverty by 2030.
“During the trip, the delegation will meet with key government leaders, nonprofit partners in the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) space, and participate in field visits to see innovative projects addressing sanitation in local communities throughout India,” the statement reads.
Any hopes we had of impromptu performances across India have been officially dashed. Meanwhile, here’s how AIB decided to rub it in:

Update: Turns out, Chris Martin and Freida Pinto also met up with Facebook India MD, Kirthiga Reddy. Which is not surprising if you consider how strong Facebook India really is – we have the world’s second largest Facebook audience, and we’re all set to surpass the USA in terms of mobile users by 2017. In other words, it’s pretty big. Oh what we wouldn’t give to listen in on their conversation!
