Summer teas to beat the heat

These delicious (and super easy) recipes will carry you through summer

  • Sourced from tea estates in Assam, Darjeeling and Nilgiris, Tea Trunk’s whole leaf teas are packed with anti-oxidants, and perfect for a summer cleanse. They've introduced two new flavours, rose oolong and chilli chai. We show you how to use them and beat the heat!

    Jamun Rose Oolong Iced Tea 
    A beauty treatment in a cup, the Rose Oolong Tea combines oolong leaves with real rose bud and petals that rev up metabolism and benefit skin. Use it to make the Jamun Rose Oolong Iced Tea which is an ideal post-meal drink combined with jamun juice and known for its cleansing properties.

    Ingredients (serves two):
    5-6 g Rose Oolong Tea
    100 ml Jamun juice
    Honey to taste
    Jamun fruit and rose petals for garnish


    Brew the tea with 200 ml water at 100 degrees celsius, for 3-5 minutes.

    Refrigerate till you need to serve, minimum one hour.

    In an ice tray put one jamun and rose petals alternately in each bracket, top with water and freeze.

    Fill 1/3 of the glass with Jamun juice and 2/3 of the glass with the tea. Add ice as desired.

  • Chilli Chai Iced Tea
    A spicy twist on the classic Indian Chai, the Chilli Chai has a distinct woodiness and warmth of cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, vanilla in black tea. Shake it up with sweetened milk to make a spicy iced latte that will give you your daily chai fix.

    Ingredients (serves two):
    5-6 g of chilli chai
    200 ml milk
    Cane sugar to taste


    Brew the tea in 300 ml water at 100 degrees celsius, for 4 to 5 minutes. Pour the tea into ice trays, and freeze.

    Sweeten the milk as desired. Once the ice has set, fill the glass 2/3 way with ice cubes, and top with milk.
