When you’re an heiress to a crystal magnate as large as Swarovski, if you don’t have a crystal-studded wedding dress and crystal confetti thrown in celebration at the altar, did you even have a wedding?
So when Swarovski heiress Victoria Swarovski got married to German entrepreneur Werner Mürz in Trieste, Italy, under a shower of aforementioned crystal confetti in a 1 million-dollar crystal studded wedding dress, we weren’t really surprised. Were we amused? Yes. Did we destroy our wedding bucket list that we had been painstakingly compiling since we were 11? Maybe. But surprised? No. On an unrelated note, who did they consult about possible crystal confetti-related injuries? Because there’s no way there weren’t any.
The bride wore a custom-made Michael Cinco (the designer responsible for making Aishwarya Rai look like a grown-up Elsa at Cannes this year), that featured 5,00,000 crystals and, according to Brides magazine, weighed roughly 100 pounds (that’s nearly 46 kg).
Like any aspiring Disney princess worth her poisoned apple, she had a 26-foot long, lace-edged, veil to complete her look.
After stabbing a stunning five-tiered wedding cake, the bride, who is also a singer and judge on Germany’s Got Talent, performed for the guests.
The three-day extravaganza concluded with a welcoming party where the theme was ‘red and white’, with the bride wearing a red beaded gown (again by Michael Cinco), with a flowing train embedded with crystals.
The festivities were followed by a dinner complete with more crystal confetti and solid gold candelabras, because why not?
