This Gatsby-inspired pop-up will transport you to the 1920s

Love The Great Gatsby? Then you’ll dig this: Magazine Street Kitchen and lifestyle brand Nicobar are coming together to bring F. Scott Fitzgerald’s world alive. Head to the Byculla space to experience a unique Gatsby-inspired dinner on September 30. Chef Alex Sanchez has a six-course menu (with wine pairings) in store, which draws inspiration from Prohibition-era America. We’re looking forward to a mean salmon coulibiac, a comforting lasagna Americana and a pineapple sundae worth ditching our diet for.

The tables will be set with Nicobar’s new dinnerware collection called Chand Sitara, which is a nod to Mumbai’s art deco architecture. “The Great Gatsby is a classic that everyone is familiar with. It was set in the Prohibition era, which is also the same period that art deco came to life. These elements of design have influenced the crockery line created by Nicobar,” adds Gauri Devidayal, partner at The Table and Magazine Street Kitchen. “Chef Sanchez has taken inspiration from the many references to food in the novel. And of course, there will be Prohibition cocktails to kick it all off!”

The meal is priced at Rs 4,000 (without alcohol) and Rs 5,000 (with alcohol). Tickets available here.
