#CraftIsCool by Paramparik Karigar

Day 2 at Lakmé Fashion Week was dedicated to sustainable fashion and Indian textiles. The day kicked off with #CraftIsCool by Paramparik Karigar which saw multiple designers collaborate with craftspeople: Aranya Natural x Rouka; Bheru Lal Chhipa x Poochki; Mohammed Yusuf x Vineet Rahul; Sarfraz Khatri x Verandah; Shohel Khatri x The Pot Plant.

The entire collection was suffused with the spirit of the handloom. Indian crafts like daboo, hand block prints, shibori, bandhani and bagh prints were given a modern update through the ensembles, making them an appealing choice for the younger generation. The colour palette saw a mix of reds, blues, mustards, creams and blacks mixed and matched together. Handwoven cotton, organza, rich silk, upcycled and recycled fabrics that ensured zero waste were used in the collection. The show ended with the designers and artisans walking the ramp together, marking the beginning of a successful collaboration.
