The exquisite diamond boutique, Zoya officially reopened its flagship store in Delhi last evening and the guest of honour was none other than Gauri Khan. We caught up with the celebrity designer and found out more about her favourite piece from the label’s collection, her go-to accessory, and her styling secrets.

ELLE: What are your thoughts on the new Zoya store?

Gauri Khan: It’s a lovely store! Zoya products are very artistic, so I liked the store’s minimalistic layout; it’s uncluttered, and the navigation is well-planned. You can spend time appreciating each piece individually.

ELLE: What are your thoughts on the new collection 6299 Hollywood Blvd?

ELLE: Which is your favourite piece from the collection?

GK: I like this matrix necklace—it has beautifully cut tanzanite and diamonds set in white gold. The design is simple, and it’s impeccably crafted with a lovely flowy, silhouette.

ELLE: How would you style it?

GK: Since it’s inspired by the red carpets of Hollywood, we decided on a formal look to go with it. Like this stunning gown by Monisha Jaising

ELLE: Your go-to accessory/piece of jewellery?

GK: My gold wedding ring.

ELLE: Three tips for styling traditional jewellery?

GK: Let beautifully crafted pieces make a statement, don’t clutter the look with lots of jewellery. Try a traditional polki or kundan necklace on a gown or with a cocktail dressfusion can be fun! Style your hair and outfit correctly–put your hair up if you want your earrings to show, and make sure the zari or embroidery on your outfit is not too busy or clashing with your necklace.
