Kajol shows us 3 different ways to style the sari

We’ve been saying it for years — the sari is one of the most versatile garments out there. And Kajol — with some help from her stylist Mohit Rai — set off on the task to remind us of that fact. While you’re stumbling for new styling ideas, Kajol’s got three up her sleeve. Fortunately for you, she’s as generous about her styling tricks as she is about her beauty regime (read here). Here’s how you can give your sari a creative spin with inspiration from Kajol:

1. Make it Fall ’17 appropriate with a long jacket

For Lokmat Maharashtra’s Most Stylish Awards 2017, Kajol picked a polka-dotted saffron sari by Abraham and Thakore that she styled with a glazed gold knee-length jacket. A thin belt accentuated her waist. A sleek centre-part hairstyle and minimal make-up ensured her ensemble had all the attention.

2. Accessorise with statement ethnic earrings

At the recently-concluded Kolkata International Film Festival 2017, Kajol chose a dark emerald and gold Sabyasachi sari with floral hand embroidered motifs. With her hair pulled back into a ponytail, she kept her make-up light with blush pink lips and kohl-rimmed eyes. Her statement-making earrings served as the only accessory her ensemble required, perfectly rounding off her classic look.

3. Hung up on handloom

Kajol joined the handloom brigade in an electric blue and gold striped silk sari by Raw Mango paired with a black blouse. Once again, she kept her hair and make-up simple so as to not take the attention away from her floral-inspired gold choker.
