7 ways to style your destination wedding wardrobe, courtesy the first Bollywood marriage of 2018

You know major style inspiration is going to come out of any wedding involving the Kapoors. The Mohit Marwah – Antara Motiwala wedding (#Antumoh) in the UAE has given us the perfect destination wedding wardrobe, courtesy Bollywood celebrities Rhea Kapoor, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Khushi Kapoor and more.

And if there’s one common style celebrities are sporting, it’s that of white bridal lehengas. This trend was first noticed on the runway at Shyamal and Bhumika, Ridhi Mehra and Jayanti Reddy at the recently-concluded Lakmé Fashion Week Spring Summer 18. Watch how Kiara Advani, Karisma Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor and more effortlessly pull it off. Meanwhile, Rhea Kapoor gave us a lesson in styling a mehendi ensemble by adding a casual touch through her white sneakers. Are you taking notes?

1. Wear sneakers with a tunic and a skirt

Rhea Kapoor nails the perfect mehendi/baraat look with her Anamika Khanna tunic in a happy hue of yellow and printed midi skirt that she styles with white embroidered sneakers from Aprajita Toor. A statement neckpiece rounds off her look. Everyone knows sneakers are perfect for dancing.

2. Style a tailored blazer over your sari

Rhea first tried this look on Kareena Kapoor Khan who wore it to perfection. Here, the stylist pairs an Alexander McQueen black blazer with a red sari with feathers from Anamika Khanna. Talk about doubling up formal wear, why should men have all the layering fun? Statement jewellery is the perfect way to round off any shaadi look.

3. Experiment with statement sleeves

One of the leading trends for this summer is exaggerated sleeves. Khushi Kapoor’s Falguni and Shane Peacock lehenga in glazed gold gives a modern twist through its blouse featuring sheer, off-shoulder, organza sleeves. It’s the perfect excuse to ditch the dupatta and still keep the judgemental aunties at bay.

4. Opt for a sexy sheer embellished blouse

Khushi dons a high-neck full-sleeved sheer embellished blouse with an A-line lehenga in white from Manish Malhotra. Dainty earrings add elegance to her ethereal ensemble.

5. Ruffle it up with feathers

Yet another trend spotted on the runway at Lakmé Fashion Week Spring Summer 2018 was that of feathers. Kiara Advani stuns in her silver sequinned skirt with feathers that she wears with an embellished halter top from Manish Malhotra.

6. Pick the timeless combo of white and gold

Karisma Kapoor’s floral embellished lehenga choli in white and gold from Manish Malhotra is all the proof you need that classic colours like these never fail to surprise. It’s also the perfect way to take florals into an eveningwear look.

7. Go heavy on your accessories

Sure, no one likes travelling with family heirlooms to destination weddings, but Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s strong accessory game will make you think otherwise. Or maybe ditch the fine jewellery all together and go for travel-friendly dupes. Take inspiration from Shweta as she styles a maang tikka, chaandbalis and a layered neckpiece with her chikan hand embroidered lehenga choli from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.
