January and February are two of fashion’s most significant months, starting with Paris Hot Couture Week, New York, London, and Milan fashion weeks. It’s now time for the curtain call this season with Paris Fashion Week, starting today. Just when we were soaking in Gucci’s yet another one-of-a-kind showcase, Fendi’s first plus size model to ever walk its runway, and Jeremy Scott’s signature Moschino take on the Marie Antoinette school of maximalism in Milan Fashion Week, it’s once again time to brace ourselves for another dose of sartorial excess over the next eight days.

From Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, Claire Wright Keller for Givenchy, Virginie Viard for Chanel And Maria Grazia Chiuri for Dior, the giants of fashion will be guided by a formidable feminine force at Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter ’20. Stalwarts from the fashion oracle (a.k.a. the French capital) will also include Balmain, Celine by Hedi Slimane, Yohji Yamamoto, Yves Saint Laurent and Chloe. ‘It’ supermodels like Kaia Gerber, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Ugbad Abidi (among others) will rule the runways and frows will be paparazzi-worthy, studded with the crème-de-la-crème from the glamour world. And while the shows are always sure to mesmerise, the Parisian street style at PFW, thanks to its celebrity and influencer-heavy attendance, is worth saving on your Pinterest board.
