Couturiers Anu Jani Sandeep Khosla debuted their new international westernwear label ‘Khosla Jani’ with a fashion show, in association with Volvo S90, on Friday 4th November. The duo showcased, for the first time in India, ‘The Enchanted Collection’ from the label.
“The mood for the collection is Winter. Enchanted spins a Fantasy and celebrates the fiery heat that resides in the iciest of palettes, from off white and beige to silvered grey, the blue of Midnight and Pitch black, this is decidedly erotic, grown up glam for the woman who always stands apart,” says the duo on the collection.
The label already has a fanbase in some of the most popular celebrities all across the world, like Beyonce, Gwen Stefani, Carrie Underwood and Kesha (to name a few!)
The collection featured rich fabrics and details with romantic voluminous silhouettes in abundance. As the showstopper, Shweta Nanda Bachchan looked stunning in an art deco inspired white gown from the duo’s ‘Aliza’ collection, complete with a feathered cape to add some drama to the already engaging production. On choosing her as a muse, the designers said, “Shweta Bachchan Nanda makes the perfect muse. And we couldn’t be happier than to have her wear the piece de resistance showstopper, as we launch our new label in Mumbai. She is everything ‘Khosla Jani’ stands for. Unfettered style, unleashed spirit. Absolutely grown up glamour for the woman who knows and loves herself.”
The muse herself couldn’t stop gushing about the designers and the collection, “I’ve been fortunate enough to wear their fabulous clothes for the last two decades. They are also cherished friends. So I am beyond thrilled to wear ‘Khosla Jani’ tonight as Abu and Sandeep launch the label in Mumbai. We’re all in for a treat with this collection and I’m keeping everything crossed for them. And for me as I walked the ramp as show stopper, it was quite the responsibility!”
