President Obama swoons over his wife and everyone loses their minds

Whether you agree with his politics or not, it is a fact universally agreed upon that President Barack Obama is cool. And that’s cool with capital letters. Part of his appeal maybe the stark differences between him and the orange disaster that awaits the most powerful nation in the world, but as part of our New Year’s resolution, we’re resolutely trying to stay in denia… umm, sorry, we meant stay positive.

Obama gave us another reason to fervently pray for a divine intervention before Donald Drumpf truly becomes the POTUS with his farewell speech that had a lot of people ugly crying all over the world.

He spoke about the progress that they’ve collectively made and how it can’t be undone because of differences in political opinions. He addressed a variety of issues, from the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement to the climate change. But it was his shoutout to wife Michelle Obama that showed why orange can never be the new black.

Obama’s tribute to Michelle

“Michelle – for the past twenty-five years, you’ve been not only my wife and mother of my children, but my best friend.  You took on a role you didn’t ask for and made it your own with grace and grit and style and good humour.  You made the White House a place that belongs to everybody.  And a new generation sets its sights higher because it has you as a role model.  You’ve made me proud.  You’ve made the country proud.”

All future romantic prospects, take note. Unless you are prepared to make a speech like this, you can go home.

The world has been unified with the collective grief over the prospect of not witnessing more ‘Barack <3 Michelle’ moments, as exhibited by the sheer number of tribute videos, tweets and memes across the internet.

Thank you Obamas for setting the bar so high that we’ll probably remain single forever. Thank you.
