Five fitness buzzwords you need to know in 2019

We’re nearly halfway through 2019 and if your fitness resolution isn’t going as well as you’d hoped, here’s some inspiration. We get celebrity trainer Namrata Purohit, who’s responsible for the fabulous physiques of Sonakshi Sinha and Kangana Ranaut, to share 2019’s top five fitness buzzwords. So, shake up your exercise routine and give these a shot:

1) CoreStix

CoreStix is basically a set of bars with a base. It is a full body workout and helps in increasing strength, stability and balance. As the name suggests, all the exercises engage the core muscles and concentrate on sculpting and toning your body.

2) Pilates

Pilates is a mind and body workout that targets and strengthens all the muscles in your body, including the deeper muscles and your entire core. As an exercise, it aims at developing good posture, strength, flexibility as well as balance. It also helps prevent injuries that could occur due to muscle imbalance and relieves back pain. Pilates is easy on your joints as it put minimum impact on them.

3) EMS

EMS stands for Electric Muscle Stimulation and is derived from physiotherapy. In an EMS session, the muscles react to an external source that simulates the same electrons that the brain sends to the muscles, but at a higher intensity. While performing EMS, 90% of your muscles contract at the same time. This makes the workout intense but extremely effective. EMS is usually done only once a week, for 20 minutes. It’s excellent for people short on time, people who want to lose weight and inches and people with injuries. It’s also a great idea for athletes.

4) MMA

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is designed to train your entire body while focusing on strength and endurance. And it’s not physical—this routine also builds your mental endurance. MMA requires a combination of speed, power and strength. If you’re looking to gain total body strength, this high-intensity exercise is perfect.

5) Flowin

A unique new-age concept, Flowin is here to stay. It requires the use of a Flowin board, a portable performance training tool. It utilises gravity, your own body weight, and combines it with friction, which results in an extremely versatile exercise form. The Flowin training tool offers a methodical and extensive full-body workout which is easy to use, even if you’re a beginner.
