With snuggle season upon us, we’re taking a break from Margaritas and Piña Coladas and embracing hot cocktails instead. Whether you’re chilling with your family over the weekend, curling up in bed, or simply looking for something to keep those hands warm, let these hot cocktails keep you company during those winter days. Ahead, 4 alcohol labels share easy recipes for hot cocktails (besides the same old hot toddy), which you can whip up at home in a jiffy.

1. 3000 by Manhattan Bar at Four Seasons, Singapore

Featuring Flor De Caña (12 Years), this boozy cocktail brings hot chocolate and rum in one glass. Notes of vanilla combine with cacao in this hot serve cocktail, which is sure to ignite a spark in your heart and make you say “I love you 3000.” (Where my fellow MCU fans at?)

Ingredients

  • 45 ml     Flor De Caña 12 Years
  • 10 ml     Mozart Chocolate
  • 10 ml     Tempus Fugit Creme de Cacao
  • 30 ml     Hot Chocolate
  • Top up  Vanilla Cream Mix

Method

It’s a built cocktail–pour the ingredients into a pony glass or Irish Coffe Glass and stir. Garnish with strawberry dust and say cheers!

2. Cocoa-nut Hot Buttered Rum by Maka Zai

Taking a leaf from the Harry Potter series which invented the butter beer, Maka Zai adds it own spin with the hot buttered rum. This warm and cosy drink contains rum, butter, hot water or cider, a sweetener, and various spices.

Ingredients

  • 240gms – Coconut sugar
  • 120gms – Melted peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon – Cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon – Vanilla extract/essence
  • 1 teaspoon – Ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon – Ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon – Ground nutmeg
  • 60ml – Maka Zai Gold Rum
  • 180ml – Hot water

Method

Combine coconut sugar, melted peanut butter, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and the ground spices in a mixing bowl. Beat it till well combined. Warm a mug of hot water, and once the mug is warm, pour out the water. In the warm mug, combine two tablespoons of the spiced butter mix with 30ml of the Maka Zai Gold Rum and stir well to mix. Add the remaining 30ml of rum and top it off with hot water. Garnish with cinnamon stick, star anise, and a dehydrated orange.

3. Warm Tea Cocktail ft. Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège

Can’t choose between tea and cognac? Just combine the two and you got yourself a warm, boozy tea cocktail. What’s not to love? Bright spices and citrus highlight the round spice of Hennessy V.S and the floral notes of hibiscus tea. A perfect warm drink to lift your spirits this season.

Ingredients

  • 30 ml Hennessy V.S
  • 30 ml Velvet Falernum
  • 10 ml Fresh Lemon juice
  • 150 ml Hibiscus tea (hot)
  • 1 Lemon Wheel
  • 1 Cinnamon stick

Method

Add all ingredients to a heat-proof glass mug. Stir to combine. Serve it after garnishing with a lemon wheel and a cinnamon stick.

4. Hot Penicillin ft. Glenmorangie The Original

On days you’re sniffling with cold and need a break from the boring turmeric milk or kaadha, switch it up with this interesting concoction instead.

Ingredients

  • 50 ml Glenmorangie The Original
  • 50 ml Apple Juice
  • 12.5 ml Fresh Lemon Juice
  • Squeeze of Honey
  • 50 ml Ginger Beer

Method

Pour all the ingredients into a saucepan and bring to a simmer on a low heat. Do not allow it to boil. Pour into a glass mug and you’re set.
