It’s great to see the culinary world booming, especially after this has been one of the hard-hit industries during the pandemic. And now, every month sees chefs introducing new menus or new restaurants. With so much on our platter, we’re spoilt for choice! Whether you want to binge on hummus and pita with a sea view in Goa, indulge in some orange-infused dishes at an Italian restaurant in Mumbai, or even sip on some bean-to-cup coffee with an artsy ambience at Bengaluru, here are all the new restaurants and new menus you should bookmark this month!

1. Izumi, Assagao (Goa)

Your favourite Japanese outpost is now in Goa! So if you’re ever craving a sushi platter or ramen bowl, you know where to head to. Besides its signature dishes, the new venue also features an outdoor yakitori grill overlooking a foliage-engulfed pool and an interesting cocktail menu using Japanese ingredients like shiso leaves, sakura cordial and of course, the miso-washed whisky. We’re adding Izumi to our itinerary for our next Goa vacay for sure!

2. The Game Palacio, Elante Mall (Chandigarh)

Mumbai is well acquainted with this boutique bowling and entertainment lounge. And now, even Chandigarh can get the taste of it with Game Palacio making its way to the city. The arcade section has a bunch of fun games for you to play and let’s not forget that bowling alley, wherein you can enjoy some drinks and bowl! Once you’re done enjoying the gaming arena, head to the bar for the innovative cocktail menu and sit down for a comforting meal with dishes ranging from Charcoal chicken risotto, Burrata Pizza, Mediterranean Pizza to Pesto Chicken Tikka. It’s the perfect hang out spot for you and your squad.

3. BrewDog, Bandra West (Mumbai)

Beer is undoubtedly a great summer drink to beat the heat! On the hunt to try out some new craft beers? Just head to BrewDog’s latest outpost in Bandra. And the best part is that it’s pet-friendly, so you can get your furry friend along with you as your date!

4. Blabber, Borivali East (Mumbai)

Head to this newly launched cafe and bar with European influences. It has two floors-  each floor offers a different vibe, a quaint café feel on the ground floor, and a comprehensive bar on the first floor. The cuisine caters to everyone’s palate with its dishes and cocktails being inspired by many cultures around the world. Some of the must-have include the Korean Cheese Pull Garlic Bread, Dabeli Bao, American fried chicken sandwich, Tadka Hummus, Devil Soya Chaap. And don’t forget to try the exquisite cocktail menu featuring drinks such as Garden in a glass, passionfruit martini, the whiskey-based Forbidden, Skinny Margarita, Popcorn Sour.

5. Rosie & Tillie, Saket (New Delhi)

Located in DLF Avenue’s COMMONS, this experiential space is a brunch diner by day (Rosie) and a cocktail by night (Tillie), transforming from a daytime cafe to a nightime gastropub. Rosie features an array of breakfast options, craft coffee and mains (Ham-shuka and Pea & Basil Cappelletti are must-tries) by chef Anukriti Anand. Your lunch will be incomplete without the Imitation Tiramisu, a boozy take with Bailey’s soaked almond jaconde, white chocolate namelaka and coffee almond tuile. It’s a change of vibe post 7 pm. Tillie welcomes you with an exemplary cocktail menu. As for the food menu, you’ll be taken on a flavourful journey with offerings such as Eggplant Karaage with sticky pineapple teriyaki, Thai Spiced Chicken Schnitzel, and Pork Me.

6. Raki, The Crescent Hotel, Goa

Say hello to the highest rooftop resto-bar in Goa, on the 11th floor of The Crescent Hotel, overlooking the Miramar beachfront. Raki Modern Mezze serves modern Mediterranean cuisine. Inspired by the national drink of Turkey, raki is a liqueur made of twice-distilled grapes and anise. This plush space is the first in the country to serve Raki. The drink is also called the lion’s milk because of its cloudy appearance and it is served as an aperitif here. Besides this, the drinks menu includes some classics and Goa inspired cocktails such as Alphonso Punch, Beyond the Horizon, Tokyo to Beirut, to name a few. The menu has a variety of lip-smacking dishes like Labneh Za’atar, different types of Hummus (you must try the Edamame Hummus with Chorizo), Toum & Harissa, Feta & Okra Gozleme, and the Pides with truffle oil and burrata cheese amongst others–yum! Most of the spices used on this menu are imported from the Middle East so expect authentic flavours.

7. Maverick & Farmer, Ulsoor (Bengaluru)

The homegrown coffee label now introduces its new bean-to-cup cafe in the city. The brand conducts experiments in its estate in Pollibetta, Coorg that serves as a laboratory where their brews are conceptualised and brought to the cafe. Some of these artisanal flavours are Cinnamon Almond Coffee, Vietnamese Coffee, The Coffee Cherry Soda (made from the fruity part of the coffee cherry, this drink is refreshing, fruity and contains antioxidant), The Clarified Cappuccino (an 8 oz cappuccino made with the perfect milk-espresso ratio is clarified using a technique borrowed from a different stream of food science. This makes you experience a near-clear cappuccino infused with some fruit flavours and rosemary). And while you sip on the lovey coffee, take a moment to soak in the artsy interiors. For those hunger pangs. dishes like The Square Burgers, Pastrami Sandwich, Pulled Pork Sandwich, Chocolate Banana Cake and Apple Pie awaits you. What’s more? The cafe has free wifi and is pet-friendly!

8. Independence Brewing Company, Kalyani Nagar (Pune)

The city gets a new brewery–Independence Brewing Company! Known for its craft beers, the spacious place is a great hangout spot to unwind and chill with your friends. Pair your favourite beer with their delectable menu that features mouth-watering dishes from European, Lebanese/Turkish cuisines. There’s also a live Pizza Corner with an Anatoli Pizza Oven to provide you great pizzas–a great accompaniment to your beer for sure!

1. Sorrentina, Battle Of The Oranges (Khar West, Mumbai)

Sorrentina is celebrating the unique Italian tradition Carnevale D’ivrea – the Battle of the Oranges, a customary festival in the Northern Italian city of Ivrea to welcome the arrival of spring. If you love this citrus fruit, head to the Italian restaurant to taste their special menu. You can start with small plates with dishes like Crostone (butter-toasted ciabatta topped with stracciatella, zucchini, escabage and orange vinaigrette) and Barramundi Polpete that consists of steamed fish farce, molten butter, orange and caper Aglio e olio. Pizza lovers will love the Alla Putanesca (a Marinara base topped with fresh mozzarella, and other condiments) or Ndujia (a Bianco base with fresh thyme, Ndujia, orange segments, stracciatella, red chilli). If you love pasta, choose from Gnocchi All Arancia (orange-glazed gnocchi, fresh chilli, pistachios) or the Rosso Ravioli (a blush Sauce, orange and ricotta capellini, seasonal chili and dehydrated Orange). And if you have space for the mains, try the Soy Salmon (pan-seared salmon, fried garlic, orange and soy emulsion, pan-seared broccolini) or the Pork Chop (orange chilli glazed pork chop, dry fruit gremolata, bacon mash, corn candy. Love the orange and chocolate combo? Then opt for the Java Cake for desserts. It has an orange marmalade centre and dark chocolate outer coating. It’s safe to say that with this menu, you’ll get a hefty dose of Vitamin C!

2. Hakkasan, The Plum Blossom Menu

Head to the Pan-Asian restaurant for an elevated five-course dining experience featuring signature Cantonese specials. Begin your meal with your choice of soups Hot & Sour or the Sweet Corn Soup (available in veg and non-veg). The second course includes Hakkasan’s signature piping hot dim sum where you can choose two dishes from options such as Spicy Chicken Dumpling, Edamame Truffle Dumpling, Crispy duck roll, Carrot cake, among others. For the mains, take your pick from wok dishes like Stir-fry lamb tenderloin in black pepper sauce, Sanpei Chicken Claypot, Chilli prawns with mantou and Stir-fry French beans. Your Cantonese experience will be incomplete without Hakka hand-pulled noodles, Spring onion egg fried rice or a Vegetable fried rice. An Apple and Vanilla crème brulee or a Dark chocolate mousse will leave you feeling satisfied. But if you prefer keeping it light towards the end, you can also sip on a soothing cup of bespoke tea like Jasmine Green tea as a part of your experience.

3. The Sassy Spoon, Parsi Bhonu Menu

Indulge in an exquisite culinary experience of Iranian delicacies with a modern touch with this limited edition Navroz menu. The festive spread entails a wide variety of authentic dishes from appetisers including Cyrus Dastur’s Prawn Patio on Khari Toast, Chicken Farcha, and Mixed Vegetable Patio on Khari to main course dishes such as Caramelised Brown Rice with Dhansak, Very Berry Mutton Pulao with Kachumber, Patrani Macchi and more! The menu also features some sugary confections like Memas’ Ravo, Lagan Nu Custard, and Bun Maska Marmalade Pudding–we’re salivating already!

4. Jamjar, Aritsan Pizza Menu (Bandra West & Versova, Mumbai)

When I’m in the mood for some good pasta, Jamjar is one of my go-to spots. But this time, I’m keen to head there for their newly launched artisan pizza menu. Vegetarians can indulge in the Truffle Shuffle (White Pie) with mushroom bechamel, shiitake, truffle oil and olives; Crispy 4 cheese with Mozzarella, goat cheese, parmesan and burnt cheddar crust; Goat Cheese & Caramelized Onion with balsamic and basil. Whereas non-vegetarians will love the Chicken Cafreal cheddar, jalapenos, pickled peppers, cilantro; the ‘Goan Choriz’ with feta, scallion and potato salli; or even the Pig Out with pepperoni, bacon and goan choriz.
