15 Red Carpet Looks We Loved From The MTV VMAs 2021

red carpet

After a year of being held in a digital to semi-digital format, the VMAs (Video Music Awards) is back in full form this year with live performances in front of an audience. Showcased at Barclays Center in New York City, big stars and musicians like Doja Cat (who also turned host this year), Ed Sheeran, Machine Gun Kelly, Foo Fighters, Justin Bieber and more delivered high-octane performances. How we wish we could be there in person too!

But let’s not forget the glamourous VMAs red carpet, best known for featuring bold and playful outfits. Our favourite singers went all out and redefined OTT fashion. From Megan Fox’s daring ensemble to Kacey Musgrave’s avant-garde look, here are 15 fashion moments we loved from the VMAs 2021 red carpet.

Camila Cabello
Keeping the colour blocking trend alive, the singer and Cinderella star wore a red and pink corset gown featuring an exaggerated bow by designer Alexis Mabille.
Megan Fox And Machine Gun Kelly
The 'it' couple has been making stylish appearances together everywhere since they made their relationship official. So we weren't surprised when the duo turned up the heat on the red carpet. Megan donned a daring sheer gown from Mugler whereas MGK looked dapper in a sequined red suit.
Jennifer Lopez
Making a surprise entry as a presentor, JLo flaunted her rock-hard abs in a black criss-cross cropped top and skirt by David Koma.
Olivia Rodrigo
Wearing a hot pink and orange ombre ruched gown by Atelier Versace, the 18-year-old pop star paid tribute to the past red carpet looks.
Doja Cat
The star who doubled up as host and performer grabbed eyeballs in a Vivienne Westwood outfit–a black corset unitard with a wine coloured drape and maroon thigh-high stockings with tie-up platform heels.
Shawn Mendes
Keeping it cool and casual, yet suave, the Senorita singer pulled off a monochrome look in a white vest, gathered pants and blazer.
Lil Nas X
If there was anyone else who could rock the suit and gown hybrid after Billy Porter, it had to be Lil Nas X. The pop star became the centre of attention in a light purple Atlelier Versace gown.
Avril Lavigne
Giving Cher's iconic plaid look from Clueless her own spin, the Y2K pop rock singer Avril Lavigne entered in a pink plaid Area PF21 pantsuit. The cut-out blazer exposed the singer's embellished bandeau, which she matched with her mini bucket bag.
Kacey Musgraves
Best known by her Instagran name Spacey Kacey, the country singer went wild with her outfit. Dressed in Valentino, the star wore a purple dress with hand gloves and an OTT wig with feathers.

Kourtney Kardashian And Travis Barker
Making their debut as a couple on the red carpet, Kourtney and Travis were seen twinning in coordinating black outfits. While the former opted for a Olivier Theyskens latex dress with knotted detailing in the front, the latter wore a Thom Browne suit with spikes on the blazer.
Anitta
The Brazillian artist made heads turn in a plunged-neck gown by Miss Sohee.
Billie Eilish
We're signing a petition for the Bad Guy singer to get an award for the Most Comfortable Look–anyone in? The artist rocked super relaxed separates–a knit cowl neck sweater, midi skirt and warmers over sneakers.
Normani
Mid-riff exposing dresses is the hot trend at the moment and Normani pulled it off with absolute ease. The artist made a statement in a deconstructed outfit by Patrycja Pagas.
Hailey Bieber
Keeping it risqué, but chic, the model grabbed attention with her sheer lavender, turtleneck gown by ALAÏA.
Chloe X Halle
Sisters and pop singer duo Chloe X Halle wore contrasting outfits with Chloe Bailey keeping it simple, yet elegant in Marni and Halle Bailey going avant-garde in a silver grown by Manot.
