Known for its Japanese cuisine, Izumi is celebrating its completion of 5 years with new additions to its menu. The highlight is the flavour-packed Chawanmushi, a steamed savoury egg custard with shitake, chicken and prawns served with a soy kombu dashi. But there are other must-tries too–kombujime salmon sashimi with kombu oil, pork and nappa cabbage rolls, rock shrimp and squid tempura, hantaba tempura, kale and curried prawn salad and spicy miso ramen. Myoga Gibson and Gift of Mayahuel are good picks from the cocktail menu, and you must squeeze in some space in your belly for the light and airy mango mille fois.

18. Neuma (Colaba)

Celebrating its anniversary, the European-themed restaurant Neuma (launched by filmmaker Karan Johar) introduces an all-new Limitless menu. Available every Wednesday and Thursday, the meticulously crafted menu includes delectable appetisers, sumptuous main courses and divine desserts along with craft cocktails to compliment your meal. We recommend opting for the Baked Brie, Peruvian Cottage Cheese, Panko Crusted Chicken and Charred Cauliflower from the small plates; and Braised lamb on bread and Seared Chicken Leg with Truffle mashed potatoes and Berry Jus from the mains. Celebrating Indian regional food with a modern presentation, Masque is known for the innovative dishes it brings to the table. For its latest summer menu, trust Varun Totlani to bring you nostalgic-driven flavour bombs yet again. The menu includes a crispy Water Chestnut coated in a ‘chatpata’ spice mix, a hot-and-sour blend of chaat masala, chilli powder and cumin, balanced out with salt, sugar and lime. Alongside it arrives a play on Masala Papad that highlights textures and varieties of corn. Other interesting dishes include the tropical Tadgola Momos immersed in Passionfruit Thukpa; Goda Masala, Clams and Karandi Loncha, inspired by the abundance of spice blends used in Maharashtrian cuisine; Pork or Jackfruit Sausages drawing influence from Kodava cuisine, a spin on Aamras Puri and the Gujarati tradition of eating it with puri, and a dessert inspired by the timeless Cooper’s chocolate walnut fudge.

But The Bombay Canteen’s latest summer menu will convert you with its interesting flavour pairings featuring these veggies and greens. 21. Mainland China (Andheri West)

The Pan-Asian restaurant has been long associated with family gatherings and intimate dinners. Having undergone a revamp, Mainland China’s decor now boasts of classy interiors fit for the same occasions, and in addition, there’s a new 5-course set menu which consists of soups, a selection of small dishes, dim sums, main courses, a staple and a dessert. Begin with the soul-satisfying Eight Treasure Soup (vegetable/chicken), or opt for the spicy kimchi dumplings or the Beijing poached chicken dumplings. From the main course, pick Stir Fried Chinese Greens, Stir Fried Veg in Yellow Bean Or Chicken in Singapore black pepper, Ho Fan Noodles Veg, or Jasmine Fried Rice with Edamame.
