Walk down a skincare aisle, and you will notice tons of products that contain all sorts of oils for the body, bath, hair and even face. Natural oils have been around forever, but have finally gone from being “traditional” to cool. With a sea of products to choose from, it can be difficult to pick the right one. But these five natural oils are a must-have that will definitely up your skincare game.

1. Coconut Oil

Lauded as the be-all ingredient for all things skin and hair, coconut oil is a rich source of vitamin E, K and has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. But is it really an end-all solution for every beauty problem, probably not. The one big negative of coconut oil is that it can lead to breakouts and acne. But the positives are plenty, such as it makes skin feel irresistibly supple, hydrated, and smooth. It’s also can be used daily to remove make-up, and is a blessing for anyone with parched skin. A quick massage with coconut oil can instantly moisturise the driest of skin, thanks to the fatty acids. The best bit is that it can be used by itself.

2. Argan Oil

This golden elixir is found in tons of hair care products, but did you know it’s equally good for the skin too. Derived from the kernels of the argan tree’s fruit, it is usually picked from the ground by Moroccan women, to avoid overharvesting—that’s the demand of this oil.
It’s a rich source of vitamin E, fatty acids like oleic and linoleic acids, this means it’s great as an antioxidant, moisturiser and works on inflammation as well. Also, it’s non-comedogenic, so it won’t break you out.

3. Jojoba Oil

Jojoba is one of the most loved oils in skincare. It’s used to soften, smooth and hydrate skin. It contains flavonoids, which makes it great for antiaging. It’s also a good source of B-complex, making it a wonderful remedy to deal with eczema and rosacea. When it comes to acne, this is one of the best oils to use.

4. Rosehip Oil

This gentle oil works on all skin types, even the sensitive ones. It’s rich in omega-6 fatty acids that moisturise skin and makes it glow. A few drops before sleeping will ensure you wake up to plumper skin. And over time it also addresses concerns such as dullness, dryness and sun damage.

5. Almond Oil

Rich in vitamin E, zinc and potassium, almond oil can be used to improve the texture of the skin, and for brightening dull and lifeless skin. It also reduces irritation, calms inflammation, evens out skin tone, rejuvenates skin and improves skin damage. However, avoid if you have sensitive skin.
