new restaurants

Bored of going to the same old restaurant and looking for recommendations? Look no further. Here’s our list of all the new restaurants and menus this month. From Japanese cuisine to gourmet delivery kitchens, these are the culinary openings on our radar.

1. Wakai, Mumbai

Say Konnichiwa to the new Japanese restaurant in town. With its kitchen helmed under Chef Parvez Khan whose inspiration comes from Tokyo’s Ginza Street and who sources ingredients directly from Toyosu Market, the menu promises authentic flavours–think freshly grated wasabi, premium-grade angel prawns, and freshly frozen black cod. And of course, sushi. Yum, right?

2. Cou Cou, Mumbai

Dig into melt-in-your-mouth macarons, freshly baked bread and decadent chocolates at the new French patisserie in the city. Referring to everyday indulgence (and rightly so), Cou Cou is the first independent food and beverage outlet brought to life by the Oberoi Group. The patisserie also has a selection of savoury delights such as Broccoli Leaks & Kale Croque and Artichoke White Asparagus & Black Truffle Crepe. What’s not to love?

3. Mauji Cafe, Pune

Meet the city’s first ‘time cafe’, which means you pay for the time that you spend here while your beverages are on the house. Launched by Vandita Purohit, Indo Bohemian Mauji Cafe offers multiple experiences–it hosts a studio space, co-working space, an event space, a screening lounge, and a library. And of course, you can enjoy these spaces with freshly cooked meals. Take your pick from sandwiches, pasta and beverages but if you need something customised as per your taste buds and preference, that’s taken care of too.

4. Soufflé Si’l Vous Plaît, Mumbai

Missing French food from Paris? Just head to SoBo’s Soufflé Si’l Vous Plaît. Leaning into the spirit of bistro-style food, Chef Vidit Aren has created a refreshing menu. Begin with the salivating Signature SSVP Fondue with Tomme de bombai and emmental, seasonal fruits, sourdough croutons, fries and seasonal vegetables. Opt for dishes like Ratatouille With Sour Dough, Truffle Cream Pasta or a Roast Chicken from the mains. And don’t forget to try what the cafe is known for–the soufflés, obviously! End on a sweet note with classic french desserts such as Baba Au Rhum, Crème Brûlée or Soufflé Au Chocolat. We don’t blame you if you’re salivating already.

5. Colocal, New Delhi

Known for its artisanal chocolates and chocolate cafe, homegrown brand Colocal now opens in Khan Market on the occasion of its flagship store completing a year. So go ahead and sip on that warm and comforting cup of cocoa while enjoying the cosy interiors of the new outpost.

6. Hapi Beer, Mumbai

Beer enthusiasts, it’s time to rejoice as there’s a new craft brewery in town. Grab a freshly brewed Belgian Wit, Hefeweizen, Apple Cider and more at Hapi Beer in Bandra. Accompany your drinks with some delicious food ranging from mezze platters, tacos and ghee roasts to burgers, pizzas, steaks, lamb shanks and pad thai noodles. Now this truly sounds like a ‘hapi’ experience, doesn’t it?
