Neeta Lulla is chipping away at a bridal collection in collaboration with Lakmé Salon. We caught up with the designer to get a sneak peek at her forthcoming line. “My collection is for the new age bride – she’s multi faceted, modern and has a mind of her own. She was my inspiration,” says Lulla. “We’ve used traditional embroidery and fabrics but cut in very contemporary styles to suit today’s bride.”
The collection has been broken into five categories: Vintage, Glam, Traditional, Bohemian and Sculpt, she tells us. You’ll find traditional lehengas, saris, shararas and even the paithani (which gets a modern makeover), crop tops and jackets along with long, fitted kurtas are also part of the line.
The details
The clothes have zardozi details, floral embellishments and embroidery. The designer also uses Indian temple motifs. “When I thought of the Sculpt bride, I thought of something very chiselled, which led me to Indian temple motifs,” says Lulla.)
The colour pallete
It’s vibrant, and features orchid blues, greens, reds and even saffron.
The looks
Based on the designer’s vision, Lakmé Salon has helped create beauty looks. Expect defined eyes with pink lips, and lots of contouring.
