Women are actually getting injections in their feet to wear high heels for longer

How far would you go to wear those pricey Louboutin slingbacks for longer? Depending on how earnest your answer is, we present the next big beauty treatment: the ‘Louboutin Lift’, or as we call it in the ‘hood, the Loub Job.

The treatment involves injecting derma fillers in the balls of your feet to create a cushioning effect that’ll dial down the discomfort of wearing heels for up to twelve weeks. What are these magic fillers made of? Hyaluronic acid which holds up to 1000 times its own weight in water. More water equals plumper skin and in turn creates a cushioning effect.

Do you wish you could wear your Louboutins for longer? We have a semi permanent solution for you… come and get our Louboutin lift!! The Loub job is an injection of dermal filler. This creates an immediate cushioning effect which, when used with the correct dermal filler, can last for up to a year. Not too sure if surgery is the answer? Our colleagues at Elle UK put it to the journo jury:

The Argument For – Lisa Haynes, Fashion And Beauty Editor And High Heel Fanatic

Let’s not talk about how many pairs of heels I own. Okay fine, it’s in the triple figure mark. I laugh in the face of a kitten heel and think nothing of doing a 12-hour stint in stilettos (sorry, chiropodists out there). So when I heard about the ‘Loub Job’, it potentially sounds like the answer to my sole burn issues. I’ve been known to pop an ibuprofen before a night out in my more ‘challenging’ heels so — if it really works — this procedure just sounds like a more permanent solution.’

The Argument Against – Hannah Rochell AKA En Brogue And The Queen Of Flat Shoes

To be quite honest, this is one of the most ludicrous procedures I have ever heard of! It doesn’t take a genius to work out that if your shoes hurt, either wear them less, or get new shoes. Don’t get surgery! While some women find heels relatively comfortable and easy to wear, many find them painful and prolonged use can cause all sorts of physical problems, whether or not you’ve had silly fillers injected into your foot. Instead, I would advise trying out some of the myriad flat styles out there — flats are so on trend that there’s never been a better or easier time to find a pair that suits you. And your feet will thank you for it!

New on the blog: my round up of the best mules on the high street – or backless loafers, or slip-ons, or whatever you wish to call them – including this fantastic pair from Kurt Geiger
