Ever since we found out about Deepika Padukone’s item number in Raabta (featuring Bollywood’s newest couple-in-denial Kriti Sanon and Sushant Singh Rajput), we began placing bets on what her ‘friendly’ appearance would look like.
If you recall, Rajkummar Rao recently posted a photo of his cameo appearance, a painful reminder of what we look like after spending 10 minutes in the sun with make-up on. Note to self: waterproof foundation is the way to go.
But before our imagination could run wild with a similar makeover for Deepika, the first look from her song was released.
You will notice a lack of prosthetics, unless those toned legs have been lying to us all this time. Disappointingly, there’s no ratty hair or tribal tattoos either, just Deepika looking hotter than is legally permitted. We also got a little song teaser, where Deepika continues to sear onlookers with her smouldering gaze while Ranveer Singh croons in auto-tune in the background.

Are we disappointed that Deepika is making her cameo in the most Deepika way possible? Not really, we’re saving our disappointment for when the next season of America’s Next Top Model debuts without Nyle because the universe is a cruel, cruel place.
For now, we can console ourselves with this picture of Deepika listening to Homi Adajania’s stomach’s whale sounds, because why not?
