If you’ve been holding off on booking your summer holiday for this year, don’t worry — that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve missed out on the cheapest time to book hotels and get the best rates. It turns out it all depends on where you’re heading.
According to the experts at TripAdvisor, holidaymakers could expect to save as much as 49% on hotels in some of the most popular holiday destinations if they book at the right time. Based on TripAdvisor hotel pricing data, a new report from the company has found the best time to book to put you in with a chance of getting the cheaper hotel rates during the peak summer months this year.
The company used price trends from the summer seasons in 2016 and 2017, the time periods before travel when rates were at their lowest and the overall price averages for 15 popular destinations and came up with suggested ‘best time to book’ periods when the hotel prices are likely to be consistently less than the average for this summer.
