Earlier this month, designer Masaba Gupta sent out a teaser on Instagram: “On the first day of the new year. Happy to share a very special fun collaboration with @poojadhingra & Le15. Are you ready to ‘Jump’?”
We caught up with the 26-year-old designer to get the scoop. Scheduled to hit stores at the end of January, Le15 Jump will offer a healthy redux of Pooja Dhingra’s treats. Gupta, who worked on the packaging tells us, “Pooja and I have known each other for a while and we just thought about what young girls who follow us would enjoy. We wanted to create a product that would be the best of both worlds.”
While she can’t reveal much, she does divulge that there’s a lot of chocolate they worked with. “Chocolate is a favourite for the both of us and we knew we had to do something around it. I was a part of the whole process. We sat through tastings, ideating the menu and then worked on packaging. While it takes inspiration from the direction I’m taking with my line his year – there’s lots of earthy tones, the graphics are surreal. I had a lot of fun with it, the outside of every box depicts an emotion or feeling the product inside brings about in you.” And it ticks all the right boxes: Decadent desserts? Yes. Colourful prints? Yes. We’ll definitely be making more runs to the pâtisserie next month.
Le15 Jump, a limited edition collection, will be available in Le15 stores at the end of the month.
