Designer Suneet Varma and Arttd’inox recently announced a three-year collaboration. Varma, whose list of collaborations already includes Judith Leiber and BMW, will be creating a line of kitchenware using a combination of precious stones (rose quartz, aquamarine and tourmaline), gold and stainless steel for Arttd’inox (the lifestyle brand that specialises in stainless steel accessories).
“I’ve admired the design sensibility and aesthetic of Arttd’inox for long. Now coming on board, I am excited to be working in an altogether new field for me,” says Varma. His objective is to “combine steel – one of the hardest materials – with other precious metals to create one-of-a-kind, modern products.” He also hopes to “keep the rich heritage of Indian craftsmen alive” by weaving in time-tested techniques like bidri.
