Zac Posen has been announced as the creative director of Brooks Brothers’ womenswear and accessories line. Initially a menswear shop that started in 1874, Brooks Brothers made the announcement following the success of Posen’s own label and in a bid to focus their attention on their womenswear. The American retailer hopes Posen’s recruitment will attract a whole new clientele.
Seven years ago, Brooks Brothers partnered with Thom Browne as part of a guest designer project to design a 50-piece men’s and womenswear collection called Black Fleece by Brooks Brothers. However, Posen’s collaboration with the brand will be a more long-term one, with the first collection designed by him to hit stores by spring 2016.
33-year old Posen launched his eponymous label in 2001 from his parents’ living room and will be working on both brands.
