Ladies, it’s time to get your credit cards ready. To mark their 10-year anniversary, London’s high-end retailer, Dover Street Market, is celebrating all month long with a host of fashionable events.
To kick off festivities, Louis Vuitton has announced a pop-up store, which will take up the entire first-floor of the event space starting tomorrow. This would make it LV’s first pop-up, aside from their collaboration with Yayoi Kusama, who recreated their store at Selfridges back in 2012.
The temporary retail space will showcase a selective edit of ready-to-wear from Nicolas Ghesquière’s highly anticipated debut Fall/Winter 2014-15 collection for the brand. It will also feature key accessories such as leather goods, shoes and jewellery from the runway show. For the future, the French fashion house is planning to open similar pop-up shops at DSM’s New York and Tokyo branches.
Simone Rocha, Giambattista Valli, Rick Owens, Nike and Palace Skateboards will also have temporary market stalls dubbed ‘Market Street Dover’ placed throughout the building. On the opening days in September, each floor of the DSM will host a multitude of events staged by a roster of talented designers who will meet customers. The luxury retailer is also collaborating with Eastpak, Vans, Fred Perry and New Era to offer 10 reasonably priced products.
To top it off, Louis Vuitton will take over the boutique’s window, featuring a creative concept made exclusively for the store, which will take place during London’s Fashion Week in September. The pop-up store will run from August 15 to October 14.
