Manish Malhotra’s label has clocked in 11 illustrious years and his stunning line-up at the opening night of FDCI India Couture Week 2016 paid testimony to that. Intricate motifs, embellished sherwanis, cigarette trousers, dabka embroidery against a rich backdrop of velvet and sheer fabrics brought Malhotra’s ‘Persian Story’ alive on the ramp.
The highlight of the evening undoubtedly remained its two glittering stars, Fawad Khan and Deepika Padukone. Khan looked every bit the young Persian prince, decked in a regal velvet jacket and a deep maroon tunic as he opened the show.
