Anita Dongre wants to introduce a new must-have to this season’s bridal wardrobe: “the soft pink tulle skirt which every bride must have”. The Sex And The City-esque ballerina skirt can be styled with embroidered tunics, velvet cholis or even a crisp white shirt and uncut diamonds, if you’re really aiming to break the mould.
Inspired by the Bishnoi tribe and their synergetic existence with nature, Anita’s chosen motifs borrowed heavily from flora and fauna, with a rich colour palette of midnight blue, gold, vermillion and aquamarine. Obi belts cinched floor-length jackets at the waist, creating complementary proportions, and even the most elaborate garments in the collection didn’t appear to subsume the wearer, which is easier said than done when you’re talking bridal.
