Ashish’s show was a lesson in how to wear shimmer; among the pink onesies and jogger suits were a pair of need-now sequinned jeans. The denim has super-grungy cutouts, but the embellishments make them worthy of an evening out (best worn to a concert with a groupie T-shirt). And then there was No. 21, with a boy-meets-girl switch to patterned shiny pants. Fluid yet masculine, hanging-at-the-waist flannel pants were paired with a light knit. Matthew Williamson channelled ’70s cool with leather pants covered in intricately embroidered patterns, paired with dip-dyed fur vests and tinted sunnies. Don’t want to take the OTT glitzy route? Opt for Turquoise & Gold’s black-on-black, drop-crotch shiny number. Michael Kors added sprinkles to time-tested grey wool pants that go easily from work to cocktail hour with splashes of jewellery and the right amount of skin show. Make way for the multitasking piece of the season in its many interpretations.
