The first day of Lakmé Fashion Week Spring Summer 2018 kicked off with the Gen Next show featuring a new pool of talent — Mohammed Mazhar, Padma Raj Keshri, Bobo, Two Point Two and Helena Bajaj Larsen.
Each designer demonstrated their own rendition of summer — while Mohammad played around with pristine whites and layered silhouettes, Bobo juxtaposed vibrant colours with kitschy prints and hand embroidery. One stand-out piece from Bobo’s collection was the printed shirt with balloon sleeves styled with an embellished A-line skirt that met all our check points for summer must-haves.
Two Point Two had a more basic approach — they stuck to checks and stripes, in neutral shades of brown, grey, black and off white. Padma followed with shirt dresses and kurta sets draped with dupattas in a collision of indigo and white.
Helena‘s collection translated metallic colours and foiled prints onto jackets, dresses, tops and cigarette pants.
Overall, it was the perfect ode to summer — from simple whites to dramatic prints, there’s something for everyone.
