We often only know our favourite stars by the roles that they play, but rarely encounter them as their fellow actors do. And while we can gauge personality traits from interviews, media interactions and firsthand accounts, it’s those who interact directly with them that have outed these 5 Bollywood actors who are difficult to work with. From Kareena Kapoor Khan in the early days or her career to Kangana Ranaut, over the years, the tantrums they’ve thrown, the fights they’ve had and their professional conduct all add up to an easy indication of how draining a particular star can be.

From delaying call times to refusing to work with other actors, these are the celebrities who are known for their tantrums.

5 Bollywood actors who are difficult to work with:

Katrina Kaif

While she plays instantly affable characters on screen, Katrina Kaif has managed to bag a reputation amongst the film fraternity for being difficult to work with. From fighting with choreographers for not giving her enough screen time in dance routines to dropping out after committing to a movie for fear that she would be overshadowed by other actresses, the rumours of Katrina's diva tantrums abound. But what really cemented the deal was her inability to separate her personal life from professional commitments. After their break-up, both she and Ranbir Kapoor made life difficult for everyone on the sets of Jagga Jasoos, with Katrina's sarcastic quips and open digs captured for posterity during their press interviews.

Salman Khan

Aamir Khan has gone on record to say that shooting Andaz Apna Apna with Salman Khan was an unpleasant experience. "He was rudely behaved, young and brash, quite obnoxious and unprofessional," recalls Aamir. Though the actor claims that Bhai has since changed his ways, the two haven't worked together on a movie since, which suggests it has more to do with their personal relationship which has blossomed since then. Over the years, Salman has been accused of ignoring call times and being too relaxed while shooting. The actor himself has admitted to throwing the occasional tantrum. "She is unbelievable. She did throw tantrums (but since) she is small so it’s OK. I throw tantrums at this age,” Salman was quoted as saying about his young co-star, Harshaali Malhotra, in Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Kareena Kapoor Khan

Kareena Kapoor Khan has been in the industry for far too long to not have any bad blood with a co-star. Earlier on in her career, Kareena was notorious for getting into fights with female co-stars from Bipasha Basu to Priyanka Chopra. She was also known for refusing to act opposite actors who she didn't consider of her calibre. But it looks like in recent years Kareena has ditched her diva ways, if Udta Punjab and Veere Di Wedding is anything to go by. Both films see the megastar opposite relatively lesser-known stars.

Kangana Ranaut

When asked on a recent talk show about the biggest diva he has ever worked with, Rajkummar Rao replied, "The biggest diva I've worked with? Kangana." Kangana has always spoken out about how female artists don't get their dues and how she's had to fight harder for everything she has earned as an outsider in the industry. Her recent public spat with Hrithik Roshan didn't do much to her her image as a rabble-rouser in an industry that's famous for its double standards, though her frankness and tenacity did earn her new fans among the public.
