Forget everything you’ve heard about bratty stars destroying hotel rooms with their general debauchery. Shraddha Kapoor is the sort of actor who stops to ask, “If we heat the milk for coffee in the kettle, does the kettle get spoilt?” before proceeding with the interview.
When we meet her in her room, she’s all geared up to walk for Namrata Joshipura as the showstopper. “The show is designed around Lakmé 9 to 5 Insta Light [of which Kapoor is the brand ambassador]. The outfit is so beautiful, I tried it on and it fit me like second skin!” she says of the fierce (and sparkly!) jumpsuit we’d later see her in.
When she’s not championing the product – and raving about how she likes to go bare-faced, with just a touch of Insta Light and kohl – she relies on one time-tested trick. “I like to use an ice pack on my face. Just wrap it up in cloth and dab it on my face, but never directly onto my face. It helps my oily skin; I try to have more water, and I’ve always wanted better skin!” Even though it seems flawless when we meet.
She loves the thrill of discovering new designers via the LFW platform. At the moment she says, “I’m very excited to be walking for Namrata for the first time,” though she’s also big on “Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi, Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla – I haven’t worn Abu-Sandeep yet – I also think Masaba is lovely!” We hope they’re listening.
