TALITHA
Started by fashion editor Kim Hersov and fashion entrepreneur Shon Randhawa (of Patine fame), Talitha was started when they both couldn’t find embroidered, luxe holiday pieces. LISA MARIE FERNANDEZ
Taking cues from the ’90s and scuba gear, stylist-turned-designer Lisa Marie Fernandez’s swimwear has a bad-girl appeal with colour-blocked neoprene, exposed zippers and geometric seams. In 2012, she expanded her line into neoprene skirts, terry cloth towels and skinny pants making legions of her fans (which include Blake Lively and Kim Kardashian) really happy.

KIINI
KIINI was started by Turkish-born Ipek Irgit after seeing a gap in the market for figure-flattering swim wear that was playful rather than sexy. The New York-based label uses bright-hued crochet to create perfect little bikini triangles. Available in every colour of the rainbow, no two bikinis are the same. Seeing It girls Dree Hemingway, Cara Delevingne and Bar Refaeli showing off their summer tans in KIINI on Instagram should be enough incentive to snag a pair for yourself.

For a world traveller, Figue.com (pronounced ‘fig’) is probably the best bet for holiday staples. Named after designer Stephanie von Watzdorf’s favourite fruit, Figue is for the global gypsy with a jet-setting spirit. The key pieces? Ikat printed tunics, embroidered kaftans, cotton pyjamas, raffia basket totes, pom-pom jootis and kolhapuri chappals.
