7 celebrity-approved pantsuits for the modern Indian woman

Power dressing FTW

If there’s one outfit that boldly speaks your state of mind, it’s the pantsuit. Powerful and empowering in equal measure, the trend of power dressing can be traced back to the ‘70s and the ‘80s, when public figures like Margaret Thatcher and Princess Diana started opting for the menswear-inspired pantsuit to instil an element of authority in their sartorial style.

And though the pantsuit today has become more of a fashion statement than a political statement, its spirit still speaks of self-esteem and respect that it empowers the wearer with.

Take inspiration from Bollywood celebrities like Sonam Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra who are making a bold statement this season with their monotone pantsuits in strong colours of scarlet red and shocking pink. And while Twinkle Khanna and Kangana Ranaut opt for printed pantsuits in classic motifs of polka dots and florals, Kajal Aggarwal adds a feminist flavour to her denim pantsuit with her slogan tee.

Check out 7 celebrities who are rocking the pantsuit:

Sonam Kapoor
