7 Times Dakota Johnson Impressed Us With Her Red Carpet Looks

Dakota Johnson turns 32 today and it’s only fair that we spend the whole day celebrating her refined taste in fashion. The actor has quite evidently proven that she can pull off both – a casual pair of jeans and t-shirt, as well as a risque red-carpet gown, with equal finesse.

The Hollywood star’s phenomenal sartorial choices have always struck a chord with fashion critics and audiences. Gucci is her first port of call for major events – meanwhile, Valentino, Dior and Saint Laurent have also made their way into the actor’s red-carpet wardrobe over the years. On her birthday, here’s an edit of our favourite red carpet looks by Dakota that we would love to steal.

In Gucci

Sporting her signature blunt bangs – Dakota brought the roaring ‘20s glamour to the Venice Film Festival, 2021. She made a mark in a stunning bejewelled sheer Gucci gown with fringe and sequin details.

In Prada

Looking all pretty in a pastel pink Prada gown – Dakota channeled understated elegance as she attended the premiere of the ‘Black Mass’ during the 72nd Venice Film Festival, 2015.

In Dior

Dakota took the bold and sexy route in this corseted black tulle gown by Dior at the world premiere of her film, The Friend, at the TIFF.

In Valentino Haute Couture

For the premiere of her film Fifty Shades Darker, Dakota stepped out in a nude-hued halter-neck gown with a decolletage neckline. Talk about being effortlessly sexy at all times.

In Dior

For BAFTA’S, 2016, Dakota looked like a romantic dream in a strappy red Dior dress with ruffle details.

In Balenciaga

Donning a chic Balenciaga ball gown at the Black Mass premiere, Dakota gave her red carpet wardrobe an ultra-modern update.

In Brandon Maxwell

In a bridal-inspired Brandon Maxwell separates, Dakota went with a dreamy vibe to the Academy of the Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences 11th Annual Governor Awards.
