7 summer hair fixes

Follow a new shampoo routine

You need to wash your hair more often than usual (2-3 times a week). Half the battle against dandruff, hair fall and oily roots will be won by doing just this. Try the L’Oréal Professionel Pure Resource Shampoo.

Stock up on masks

Use a deep-conditioning treatment, like MorocconOil’s Restorative Mask at least once a week. It will help lock in the moisture, reduce frizz and nourish your scalp.

Ditch your towel

Don’t dry your hair in a steamy bathroom, as the humidity will make it frizz instantly. Use a microfibre towel or an old T-shirt to dab off the excess water before you blow dry. Try the BBlunt iR Professional Hair Dryer, avoid heat and opt for the cool setting — it’s there for a reason. And don’t forget to apply an anti-frizz, smoothening serum, like Dove Elixir Hair Fall Rescue.

Air-dry like a pro

Freshly washed hair is always at its frizziest. Our favourite trick is to wash our hair the night before. After drying it, tie it into a loose bun at the nape of the neck — you’ll wake up to a head full of easy waves.

Beat the grease

If you find yourself washing your hair everyday, consider using dry shampoo, like Kérastase Powder Bluff. It’s a great quick-fix when you’re in-between washes, especially to freshen up the front.

Rethink your bangs

If you’re going to experiment with a new haircut, refrain from bangs or a fringe for summer. It’ll make your forehead feel like a sweaty mess. If you’ve already taken the plunge, pin up the section to keep hair off your face.

Get sun protection

Wearing a hat is the perfect (and super cute) way to shield both your hair and face from the sun’s unforgiving rays.
