Fashion has lost one of its own. Known for her meticulously tailored cocktail dresses (a hit on the red carpet), 49-year-old designer L'Wren Scott passed away early Monday morning.
Formerly known as Luann Bambrough, Scott was raised by adoptive parents in Utah before moving to Paris to pursue her fashion dreams. While there, Scott modelled for Karl Lagerfeld and photographer Guy Bourdin before launching her eponymous label in 2006. She has since dressed high-profile women like Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey, and A-listers like Sarah Jessica Parker, Angelina Jolie and Naomi Campbell.
Scott cancelled her Fall/Winter 2014-15 show at London Fashion Week last month, citing production delays.
In tribute to the talented designer, we remember her standout red-carpet looks. Click through the gallery above.
