From his favourite scent to the skillet he’s been using for the past decade, here are  Aamir Khandwala‘s top 10 essentials. Scroll through:

1. SERGE LUTENS, SANTAL DE MYSORE:
It’s the one scent that I have been using for many years. The heady, woody fragrance is addictive!
2. BOGLIOLI BLUE JERSEY KNIT JACKET:
The quality of fabric is superb and everything from Boglioli fits me like a glove. This jacket is perfect for travelling as it’s light and wrinkle free.
3. L.L. BEAN MONOGRAMMED CANVAS BOAT & TOTE:
I have one in every size. We use them daily for carrying miscellaneous samples around for client meetings.
4. POCKET WATCH:
My grandfather gave me his gold pocket watch from 1905 when I left Karachi for my undergrad studies in the US. It still works!
5. E TAPE 16:
This tape displays measurements in in/ cm making it easy for us to survey projects overseas. I always carry one in my bag because one cannot work without the right tools.
6. COMME DES GARCONS LEATHER WALLET:
I don’t like carrying bulky wallets. This one is the perfect size and fits well in my jacket pocket. I love the embossed leather diamond pattern detail .
7. KANGRA MINIATURE PAINTING:
This delicate ink painting was done by my partner Atif Toor. It is the one thing I would take with me if there were a fire—and my passport of course.
8. THE CONFERENCE OF THE BIRDS:
Farah K Behbehani has selected stories from this great work of Persian Sufi literature and illustrated them using ornamental Jali Diwani calligraphic script.
9. CLASSIC LEATHER MOLESKINE NOTEBOOK AND OHTO DUDE SILVER FOUNTAIN PEN:
I take profuse notes and am a firm believer in lists to keep things on track. I store all my completed notebooks and occasionally go back and look at the number of things achieved. It is very rewarding!
10. FIELD CAST IRON SKILLET:
We like to start each morning with a hearty breakfast and this virtually indestructible cast-iron skillet has been our kitchen companion for the past decade.
