Beauty heiress and entrepreneur Aerin Lauder on the women who inspire her

Aerin Lauder, the granddaughter of iconic beauty mogul and aesthetician Estée Lauder, has a fair share of achievements under her belt. These include launching her eponymous beauty and lifestyle brand in 2012, as well as serving as the beauty and style director for Estée Lauder Companies for over 2 decades, Aerin sure has her hands full of projects. Here, she tells ELLE about the five women she looks up to for inspiration…

“My grandmother Estée, was an amazing grandmother and friend. She was also an incredible businesswoman who taught me the importance of passion, style, hard work, family and, of course, all things beautiful. She always talked about the importance of being authentic and told me that if I am passionate and true, success will follow. To me, there is no better advice and I have valued it since I was a young girl.”

“My mother, Jo Carole Lauder has inspired me to be the best parent that I can be. She always says that ‘you only have one chance to be a good mum’, which I believe is so true. No matter what, my two boys are my first priority. I also love her classic American style.”

One of my best friends of many years, Lauren Dupont and I have shared a passion for fashion, home decor, travel, art and more.”

“My amazing sister, Jane Lauder is an incredible businesswoman. Through the years, she has always led by example and has taught me so many valuable lessons. I really admire her passion and drive, and I am so lucky to have learned from the best.”

“My close friend Tabitha Simmons and I both own small businesses and I am constantly inspired by her amazing sense of style. I always love her designs and I live in her footwear collection through every season of the year.”
