Akaaro presented its Autumn/Winter ‘17 collection titled Irreverence on Sustainable Fashion Day at Lakmé Fashion Week. The range saw a medley of contemporary and traditional silhouettes that were given a smart update—saris layered with a cape and styled with sneakers; flared skirts paired with a long-sleeved top and a jacket; knee-length kurtis with flared pants, a jacket and a shawl; free-flowing maxi dresses with a full-length jacket.
Geometrical, linear and checkered prints were prominent in all the handwoven ensembles. The colours revolved around dark, deep ones like black, blue, brown, burgundy and green lent an earthy vibe to the collection. The use of shiny fabrics in golden and silver added a festive touch to the clothes which beautifully balanced out the collection, making the ensembles an ideal pick for occasionwear.
