Futuristic, crystalline and wavy, Gaurav Gupta’s latest couture collection is inspired by the alignment of stars in a galaxy. It features indigenous boning and sculpting techniques, while pushing the boundaries of sculpted womenswear and progressive menswear. The designer recently showcased in Hyderabad, as part of the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2018-19.
Closing the show were Aditi Rao Hydari, who was a vision in white, and Kangana Ranaut, who looked ethereal in a red off-shoulder gown. The 14th edition of the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour explored the concept of pride via the lens of personal choices and journey. “In this age of technology, where everything is instant and our desire for immediate gratification is the only thing greater than our egos, the value of the ‘bond’ you have with yourself becomes increasingly important. I believe in celebrating one’s individual personality and choices through their distinct style, and creating a unique identity,” Gaurav says.
The evening was all about celebrating creativity and individuality. The artists collective Crow created an immersive, multi-sensorial experience with an interesting melange of fashion and conceptual art.
Next, the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour will bring high fashion to Mumbai and Kolkata, on January 16 and 20 respectively. The Mumbai leg of the tour will showcase designs by Rohit Bal, while the Kolkata edition will see creations by Ashish N Soni. However, both of them are certain to be a visual treat.
