After designer Manish Malhotra’s magical showcase at the previous edition of Lakmé Fashion Week, it’s now designer Anamika Khanna’s turn to put the ‘grand’ in grand finale for this year’s Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort ’18. The designer — who has dressed celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Shilpa Shetty — will be presenting a collection of contemporary designs in sultry shades of nude that are perfect for the Indian skintone.
“The nude make-up trend has been the talk of the town for a while but to see it through Lakmé’s eyes is very different. It’s about identifying every Indian woman’s nude palette. Our finale collection is fine-tuned to be in perfect symmetry with the season’s statement, and we hope to showcase how much variety nudes can bring when done right,” says Anamika.
The Kolkata-based designer — renowned for her modern take on traditional Indian crafts — aims for her Summer Resort line to reinvent diversity through its experimental ensembles that are interspersed with references to street wear, making it romantic and powerful in equal measure. “The (collection’s) influences are wide and have no boundaries of colour, place or in shape. It is a reflection of what is contemporary and yet steeped in heritage of craft and texture,” the designer says.
The Lakmé Absolute Grand Finale will take place on February 4, 2018.
